“Are you satisfied with the world we’ve built?”
I am baffled. We produce awe-inspiring technology, an abundance of brilliant and creative individuals, a mind-boggling circulation of wealth, and yet our collective suffering increases rather than decreases. Homelessness is at a rate I have never witnessed before in my lifetime, and our ground-breaking medical advancements are inaccessible to the majority. This question challenges our systems and the values we build them on.
We all have a coping mechanism. For years, I thought mine, perusing ancient astrological texts and examining my own chart from every possible theoretic angle, a rather unhealthy escape. But then a pattern appeared. One that deviated wildly from the modern astrological perspectives. And yet, one that spoke to that nagging, ever-present question, “are you satisfied with the world we have built?” As the pattern crystallized, a hypothesis formed.
The Zodiac Codex: a Hypothesis for Your Consideration
The true purpose of astrology is to create a free and just Earth. A material world in which slavery, bondage, and human induced suffering does not exist.
The zodiac is a mirror of the natural world. By understanding how the natural world works, we can figure out how to be a symbiotic, harmonious part of it. The natural chart is the codex for understanding the natural world, and it is the key to understanding the natal chart. The natal chart is a remembering spell for we have forgotten who we are. We have forgotten our divinity. We have forgotten that we are the creators of the world we build.
The natal chart answers the questions, “why are you here” and “what do you need”. We all need to do our part to manifest a free state. The zodiac contains the keys to your unique contribution.
The Zodiac Codex teaches us that the purpose of life is to be free to create your magnum opus.
The System : The Placidus System Works Every Time
The Placidus house system of the western tropical zodiac is constructed of six axes. Each axis represents an agreement. Like Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements, they are not mandates to be forced on one another. Instead, they are something we tend to mature into and choose of our own accord, because we have grown to see the wisdom in them. These agreements act as lines of respect.
Each axis contains two poles and each pole corresponds to a house. Together, the poles characterize the two dimensions of each agreement:
- respect for what is necessary for our own thriving, and
- respect for what is necessary for society’s flourishing.
The houses naturally falling on the northern hemisphere of the chart represent the components indicative of self care. Whereas, those in the southern hemisphere are indicative to societal care.
Because the two components are polar opposites, they hold distinct and, what first appears to be, conflicting needs. As we start to see the parts of the zodiac as components of a greater whole, we can see that fulfilling the needs of both poles results in symbiosis rather than sacrifice. The care of the one results in the health of the other. Each house corresponds to a zodiacal creed illuminating key aspects of the sector of life it represents. The planetary archetype associated with each sign, is representative of skills to cultivate, while the sign itself is a creed to adopt for a specific sector of life. One creed to live by is not enough. It takes varying degrees of 12 distinctly different creeds to achieve symbiosis.
With twelve houses and twelve distinct needs, compartmentalizing these philosophies becomes essential. It protects us from historically harmful extremes. The result is healthy, balanced, resilient societal structures in which everyone’s basic needs are met. Through sincerity, ingenuity and contribution, individuals can thrive for as long as they choose to invest in the effort.

The Hypothesis in Practice: A Formula for Freedom
The Zodiac Codex is a dual system:
- a universal civic code; and
- an individual strategic blueprint.
The universal code which is mapped through the natural chart, its houses, signs, and planetary rulers, describes the values and social functions required for a free and cooperative society. It is a pattern of self-governance, contribution, and ethical participation.
The personal natal chart provides a blueprint for integration into the larger pattern, without sacrificing individuality. It provides for strategic positioning of the individual for the pursuit of self-actualization and meaningful contribution.
The formula can’t be dictated. It must be adopted, one human being at a time. Freedom never trickles down. It is built from the ground up. It can’t be dictated. It must be adopted. It starts small, one human being at a time. Not everyone needs to agree to it. A tipping point is all it takes. When a tipping point of people are actively engaged in their great work, humanity will be resilient to the forces of nature and human corruption that has been the downfall of every great civilization.
There is much work to be done and little time to do it. Let’s get started.
